Robert Morgan
Uniontown
Robert “Bob” Morgan passed away peacefully in his sleep, in his home, Friday, April 10, 2026. Bob was born October 1, 1931 in nearby Morgantown, W.Va.
Bob joined the Navy during the Korean War and served his country just shy of four years, mostly aboard the USS Currituck.
During his service, Bob developed a curiosity for computers and how they worked. This curiosity led to a long and successful career as a computer systems analyst, working most of his career for Honeywell. Bob loved his work, and he was darn good at it. His knack for fixing and maintaining complex computer systems led to Honeywell sending him all over the country to help repair poorly operating systems.
Bob married Janet in 1957, and they raised four children – Jim, Bob, Susan and Karen. Starting in 1988, Bob added Grandad to his list of accomplishments. Bob absolutely adored his grandchildren.
Bob and Janet retired in 1996 and moved to Kiawah Island, S.C. Bob worked as a starter on the Ocean Course on Kiawah for 10 years. Janet passed away in 2001.
Despite losing his first love, Bob had a lot of life yet to live and a lot of love left to give. Bob and Carol met and were married in 2002. Bob and Carol lived together in Kiawah for eight years, before returning back to Pennsylvania and settling in Uniontown next door to Carol’s son, Scott. They loved working in the yard, going to church and spending time with family and friends. Bob was a devoted member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, and served as a trustee.
Bob was blessed with 94 years of a life filled with love. He will be missed every day.
Surviving are his family: wife, Carol Lee Morgan; his children, James Morgan (Lisa), Susan Kephart (Les) and Karen Dunlevey (Jason Tindall); his stepson, Scott Jones (Meghan); and grandchildren, Emily Morgan, Jimmy Morgan (Lexi), Andrew Kephart (Angela), Morgan Kephart (Leondre Richardson), Nicholas and Rachel Mangiaracina, Matthew and PJ Turner; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John Wesley and Irene Jones Morgan; sister, Lois Jean Harper; first wife, Janet Strader Morgan; son, Robert Lowell Morgan; and stepdaughter, Marti Jones.
Carol and the family would like to thank Cindy Bogol and the team at Amedisys, especially Brooke, Martha, Angelina and Logan, for the care they provided to Bob, and to Nickee Jones, a good friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Michael and Marcy Brown, Missionary Service c/o Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, in Bob’s memory, would be greatly appreciated.
Private services were held under the direction of the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, Fairchance.
