Ruth Elizabeth Lilley Gillis, 91, of Tower Hill 2, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 in Lafayette Manor, Uniontown, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Luzerne Township, Fayette County, August 9, 1934, a daughter of Arthur Elias and Sara Elizabeth Ruffcorn Lilley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lloyd Gillis, Sr.; and siblings, Arthur II, Ronald, Donald, Lloyd and Lama.
Ruth is survived by her two sons, Nelson D. Gillis and wife Deborah of Allison 2, Robert L. Gillis, Jr. of Scottdale; grandson, Robert Lee Gillis of West Virginia; sister, Mildred Davis.
Ruth’s family would like to thank the staff at Lafayette Manor and OSPTA Hospice for the outstanding compassion and care given to Ruth.
Ruth’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in the KISH-FABRY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 19 Legion Street, Republic, where her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating. Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
