Mary Lou Stewart DuBois, 92, of Point Marion, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the home of her granddaughter in Bowdoin, Maine, following a brief illness. Born in Point Marion May 18, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Delta Marie Wood Stewart.
A 1951 graduate of Point Marion High School, Mary Lou was a faithful member for all her life of St. Hubert’s R.C. Church in Point Marion. She was very active with the Rosary Altar Society, a leader for the local Cub Scouts, served on the Catholic committee for Scouting for the Diocese of Greensburg, and an election poll worker for many years for Point Marion Borough.
Her husband of 64 years, Alfred E. “Sonny” DuBois died June 25, 2015. Also deceased are her two sons, Alfred DuBois, Jr., and Kenneth DuBois; a brother, Charles Ralph Stewart; and two sisters, Dorothy Wood and Evelyn Robinson.
Surviving are her daugher, Charmaine DuBois of Point Marion; three grandchildren, Christina Wiley of Bowdoin, Maine, Jessica DuBois Keys and Joshua DuBois of Uniontown; seven great-grandchildren, Aven, Ianna, Kai, Corwin, Hope, Landon and Abigail; two daughters-in-law, Renee’ DuBois and Giessla DuBois; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Sunday, April 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 20, at 11 a.m. in St. Hubert’s R.C. Church. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion. Parish Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to either St. Hubert’s R.C. Church at 9 Sadler Street, Point Marion, PA 15474; or ones local Girl Scout troop.
Special thanks are extended to the Chans Hospice staff, who worked with our beloved Mom and Grandma – they helped make her last days more comfortable, and she was able to pass in peace.
