formerly of Uniontown
Dodie Lynn Belt, 63, formerly of Uniontown passed away on February 2, 2026, with her beloved son, Trevor, by her side. She was born January 13, 1963 to Mary Jane Belt.
Dodie was a woman of quiet strength, deep love and unwavering resilience. A proud graduate of Uniontown High School, she excelled academically and was a member of the East End Drill Team. She carried that same dedication and discipline throughout her life.
She devoted more than 20 years of service to public health and human services at the Broward County Health Department. Her work included involvement with the HIV/AIDS Consortium through the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va., work she found deeply meaningful. She was highly skilled in program coordination, eligibility services, staff supervision, and contract compliance. Dodie earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration and was known for her strong commitment to community engagement, data quality assurance, and health services administration. Her heart for service also led her to establish a women’s youth ministry in Florida, where she mentored and uplifted young ladies with compassion and purpose.
She leaves behind her cherished son, Trevor Bailey Jr., the pride and joy of her life; siblings: Terri Belt Walker, Michelle Dean, Michael Belt (Anita), Jerry Belt, Maceo (Davena) and Grapey Thomas; godchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her mother, Dodie was preceded in death by her sister, J’uane Belt; grandmother, Mabel Belt; great-grandmother, Mary Emma Belt; uncle, Arnold (Arnie) Belt; aunt, Debbie Thomas; and cousin, Jason T.
Dodie passed from this world the same way she lived in it-with gentleness, dignity and grace. Though her physical presence is gone, her spirit lives on in the memories shared, the love she gave, and the many lives she touched.
Services are entrusted to the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 E. Main Street, Uniontown, where friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, February 13. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14.
