Charles David Pinkney Sr., 69, of Uniontown, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at his home.

He was born October 16, 1956, in Uniontown, the son of the late George Warren and Jean Perkins Pinkney.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his son, Sgt. Charles “Chas” D. Pinkney Jr.; and sister, Linda Santello.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Debra Miller Pinkney; children: Melissa Judy (Daniel) of Norvelt, Christina Saunders (Christopher) of Connellsville and Chelsie Skovira of Altoona; grandchildren: Kadance, Cameron, Charlie, Christian, Colin, Wyatt and Gabriella; and siblings: Colleen Padovich of Uniontown, Judy Myers of Uniontown, George Pinkey and Curtis Pinkney, both of Texas and Amy Pinkney of Ohio.

Charles was a member of UMWA and a retired coalminer with Gateway Mine.

Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 19. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, February 20 with Pastor David Herring officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
