John Leonard Fertall, 88, of Smithfield, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, in Hallsworth House, Monessen.
He was born in Monessen September 23, 1937, the son of the late John George and Ann Berestecky Fertall.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Lorraine Fertall.
He was employed as a banker at Gallatin Bank, Uniontown.
John was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown; the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Member; and Masontown Rotary Club.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ellen Ada Lutton Fertall; daughter, Lori Ann Fertall of Pittsburgh; son, Leonard Fertall of Palm Coast, Fla.; grandchildren, Jimmy Fertall and Justine Crego; great- grandchildren, Elaina Padilla and Elicia Dorman; brother, Bernie Fertall; and sister, Thersa Dichiara.
Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Wednesday, February 25, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, February 26, from 10:30 until 11 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Masontown. Private interment follows at St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown.
A luncheon will be held at Dolfi’s following Mass. All family and friends are welcome.
