Eugene E. Rugg, 82, of Confluence, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, in his home.
He was born August 18, 1943 to the late James C. and Olive I. Glisan Rugg.
Gene loved hunting, trapping, and fishing. He would help anyone with anything, from masonry work to building decks and porches or just sitting around talking and drinking coffee.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Jessie G. Ulderich Rugg; and his brother, Floyd Rugg.
He is survived by his five children, Donald and Leslie of Confluence, Timothy of Confluence, Jody and Brenda of Confluence, Patricia and Jerry Giannopoulos of Markleysburg, and Vincent of Dunbar; 12 grandsons; three granddaughters; three great- grandsons; sister, Bonnie; and brother, John.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to his best friend, Missy; caregiver, Wanda; his aide, Penny; and all the great nurses at Amedisys Hospice.
Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Farmington, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 6. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, from 12 noon until the hour of the funeral service at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
