Wilbert DeWitt, Jr., 81, of Vanderbilt, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at his home. He was born on November 18, 1944, at Grindstone a son of the late Wilbert H., Sr. and Freda Belle Stillwagon DeWitt.
Mr. DeWitt was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired Boilermaker, having been a member of Union Local #154. He was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church in Uniontown.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane “Janie” Edwards DeWitt; sons, Kevin D. DeWitt and his wife, ChaeSuk of Gilbert, Ariz. and Jeffrey T. DeWitt and his wife, Robin of Uniontown; five grandchildren: Ashley DeWitt and her husband, Richard Hubbard, Ashley Biskup, Kodi DeWitt, Hannah DeWitt and Austin DeWitt; two great-grandchildren, Richard Charles and Penelope Hubbard; two brothers, Daniel DeWitt and his wife, Pat of Connellsville and Philip Mark DeWitt and his wife, Nanette of Grindstone; and three sisters: Sandra Henry and her husband, Homer of Mesa, Ariz., Esther Raley and her husband, Roger of Mesa, Ariz. and Rebecca Barton and her husband, Brett of Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters: Juanita Runkle, Mildred Santmyer, Shirley Eileen Rupert, Carol Gilchrest and Deborah Reynolds.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green Street, Connellsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Reverend Dan Bayles officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
