Duane “Dewey” David Mills, Sr., 62, of East Millsboro, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at home.
He was born July 4, 1963, in Uniontown, son of the late Duane E. and Beatrice R. Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by two brothers in infancy, Duane E. Mills, Jr. and Thomas Edward Mills.
He is survived by his children: Shelby (Eric) Lynn of New Orleans, La., Sara Mills and fiance, Parker Baldwin of Huntsville, Ala. and Duane “Keebie” David Mills, Jr. of Jefferson Hills. He is also survived by his siblings: Barbara Taylor, Beverly (Arthur) Colland, Jaqueline Patrick, Sandra (Kevin) Amos and Charles (Paulette) Mills; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.
“Dewey” was a retired Master Firefighter with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, Engine Company No. 12, retiring in 2021. He was a life member of the Keystone Fire Company of the Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department with 44 years of service and a member of the Adah Volunteer Fire Department.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 23. Visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24, followed by prayers of transfer followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Dewey’s life at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
A memorial service celebrating Dewey’s life will be held by Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department and the Adah Volunteer Fire Department at 7 p.m. Friday, January 23.
