Dotty “Missy” Hugus Provance, 79, of Fairmont, W.Va., formerly of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Friday, June 26, 2026, in her home, with loving family at her side. She was born November 20, 1946, in Uniontown.

Missy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Russell Provance; mother, Nina Jean Stone; brother, William “Bill” Cossick; and sister, Polly Ann Franczyk.

Missy was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, whose world revolved around her family and friends as cherished as family. She was close to her nieces and nephews, and relished in the joy of being a great-aunt to the newest generation. Missy was an avid letter writter, texter, and emoji user. She never forgot to acknowledge a birthday and had a gift for making others feel special.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Heather Lea Rollins (Clark) of Fairmont; son, Jack R. Provance II (Josie) of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Trinity Love Rollins and Adair Grace Rollins; brothers, John Hugus (Barbara) of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Jameson Cossick (Paddy) of Mt. Pleasant; and Charles Stone (Monika) of Nellysford, Va.

Family and friends will be received today, Tuesday, June 30, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, the hour of service. Interment will be private at a later date.
