Diana L. Ryan, 78, of Hopwood, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, in the Peroni Personal Care Home, with her family by her side. She was born August 14, 1947, the daughter of Joseph and Honey Lou Robinson Strange Gonzales.
She was preceded in death by her daughter- in-law, Danielle Ryan; and a brother, Michael Strange.
Diana was a graduate of North Union High School Class of 1965.
She was employed as a dispatcher for Verizon. Diana worked at US Steel in the engineering department and also worked as a paramedic and EMT for both Uniontown and South Union fire departments.
Diana was an active member of Third Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, rang hand bells and was in its bowling league. She was also a member of Abundant Life Church and Bethel Baptist Church. Diana did sign language at two of the churches. Throughout her life she cared for many furbabies.
Diana was a member of the South Union Fire Department and volunteered at Mt. Saint Macrina Manor and St. Vincent DePaul Store.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald Ryan, Jr.; daughter, Denise (Rick) Bigrigg of Beaver; brother, Stephen (Juniata) Strange of Hopwood; her sister, Stephanie (Gerard) Masi of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received Monday, March 30, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue in the funeral home Tuesday, March 31, from 10 until the time of a service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bryan Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
