Ruth Ann Kudlac, 93, of Brownsville, passed peacefully Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Beechwood Court, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and quiet generosity. Ruth was born March 15, 1933, in Perryopolis.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Harry I. Kudlac; her sister, Dorothy Abram; and her parents, Lila and Walter Beatty. Her life was deeply rooted in faith, family, and community.
A devoted member of United Christian Church in California, Ruth faithfully attended and served her church for over 50 years. Her commitment to her faith was evident not only in her presence, but in the way she lived-always offering kindness, compassion, and a helping hand to those around her.
Ruth also proudly served alongside her husband at the Brownsville Fire Department, where Harry held the role of fire chief. Together, they exemplified dedication to their community and to one another.
She is survived by her nephew, Samuel D. Abram of Uniontown; her great-niece, Marjorie Loukota (Ed) of Uniontown; her great- nephew, Samuel D. Abram Jr. (Katy) of Lebanon; her great- great-nephews, Ryan Decarlo and Samuel “Tater” Abram; and her great-great-nieces, Alyssa Loukota, Madison Loukota, and Mya Loukota.
Ruth found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. She loved to sew, often making her own clothes and helping others with mending and repairs. She was also an avid baker, known for sharing her delicious pastries with family and friends. Her home-and her heart-were always open.
Above all, Ruth’s greatest joy was found in her family and friends, and especially in the lifelong love she shared with her beloved Harry. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, in NOVAK-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA 15417. A funeral service will be held inside the funeral home at 12 noon Wednesday, April 1 – doors will open at 10 a.m.
