Wendy Bell will be fine
This letter is in response to a letter-to-the-editor by Joe Mitchell in Sunday’s paper on former WTAE anchor Wendy Bell.
I agree with him on just about everything he said. Everything except her “firing.” I would have to believe that journalists have a different set of standards than they have to go by than us. They have to be very careful on how they choose their words. Now, on her firing. I’m sure they reluctantly let her go. They had to. Who knows what the repercussions would have brought? Do we really need another Baltimore? That’s all we need. I know exactly what you are talking about when you talk about the freedom of speech. A lot of times it just doesn’t seem fair does it? I get discouraged everytime I see Al Owens in the paper. Don’t worry about Wendy Bell. She is an attractive, very good journalist with a personality that is second to none. I doubt if it will be in Pittsburgh but she will land someplace.
