Taxpayers shouldn’t subisidize foolishness
There’s been another natural disaster in the form of a flood in the Mississippi delta followed by the cacophony of calls for taxpayer money to rescue, repair and rebuild.
News flash! When structures are erected in valleys or next to oceans and rivers there will be flooding. Flat places are the result of deposition of silt and mud. Building on shifting sand is a fool’s errand that shouldn’t be subsidized by tax dollars.
If the insurance industry won’t provide reasonable coverage for these areas why should everyone else have to pony up money?
