US must stand up to Israel
When will America quit being the sugar daddy to Israel?
Under the George W. Bush administration, America signed a deal to provide Israel with $30 billion in military aid for fiscal year 2009 through fiscal year 2018; roughly one-fifth of all aid provided in our foreign aid agreements. Barack Obama has increased that deal and has committed America to $3.8 billion this year and for ten more years.
Israel, with a population of just 8.4 million people, get and have taken that $3.4 billion a year and will gladly accept the increase while giving nothing. Over the past 40 years, the entire world has condemned the Israeli occupation and condemned Israel for building 163 Jewish-only settlements and 98 outposts on confiscated Palestinian land. Now they want to build more settlements and are angry because the United States has finally said enough is enough.
All Israel has done for America is take our money and goad us into fighting their battles. They have disrespected every U S president from Jimmy Carter on, Democrat or Republican. We are hated around the world for our Israel-first policy; a policy that has given us nothing except terrorism attacks like the 9/11 horror.
Our Middle East policy is based on what Israel wants; nothing else. Israel wants all the Palestinian land as part of Israel. The people of Palestine are not even allowed to vote in their own homeland. Terrorism is seen by the Arab nations as the only way to protest and fight against the occupation of Palestinian homelands.
We will never get rid of terrorists until our country quits allowing Bibi Netanyahu and the Israeli lobby to lead us around like a dog on a leash, rolling over, laying down, playing dead and attacking other countries on command.
I am not anti-Semitic. I am pro-America. The $38 billion we are now committed to giving Israel for nothing could be used here at home for job creation, education, infrastructure and help for our seniors. We are squandering our treasure on a country that cares only for themselves and to heck with the United States and the rest of the world.
Our politicians in Washington love the money they get from the Israeli lobby and will allow Social Security to go broke rather than cut benefits to Israel. They need their campaign contributions more than Americans need Social Security, jobs, infrastructure or health care. Seniors and middle class Americans suffer to make ends meet and Israel gets $3.8 billion for nothing.
There is no point in calling U.S. Sen. Toomey, R-Pa., or U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster, R-Hollidaysburg. They are both in the back pocket of the Israeli lobby. Your vote for Toomey and Shuster guaranteed Israel billions to keep the people of Israel on the road to prosperity, while putting millions of Americans on the road to poverty.
