Israel takes but rarely gives
Israel was threatened by numerous forces when she was established.
But, times have changed and Israel is well established in many ways. She has been receiving massive amounts of funding from US citizens who are also Israeli citizens. The fundraising brings massive amounts of funds to Israel, while acting as a tax deduction from US taxes.
So the USA loses not only the funds going to Israel, but also the revenues that should go for taxes to support the US. Additionally, anyone can make charitable contributions to Israel and get a tax deduction, while that option does not exist if one wished to give to Poland, or any other country.
North Americans are willing to support Israel, but, it is time to gauge if there should be some return for the help given. Israel can take, and take, and take; but is there not some way Israel can give back some? While our own states are digging deep in budgets and education funds are cut very short, we continue to disburse funds to Israel without public question and approval.
It is past time for the politicians in Congress to terminate receipt of funding from Israel in return for billions in gifts to Israel. Right now our graduating students need jobs and a more positive outlook for their futures. The gifts to Israel would pay back all their student loans. Give them a chance to enjoy freedom, as was given to Israel.
