FCHA committed to making a difference

3 min read

The Fayette County Housing Authority (FCHA) is committed to making a healthy difference within the community and in the lives of our seniors and their families.

Mr. Mark Yauger, Executive Director, Mr. Andre Walters, Deputy Director and FCHA’s phenomenal staff adhere to a code of ethics which is not compromised by a flurry of diversity intended to sway personal opinions.

The Authority is moving forward with plans to revitalize the community by renovating buildings that are an eye sore and eliminating any hazards. The core of the FCHA’s mission is the genuine care of our honorable seniors, the Communities environment and the individual’s Quality of life.

FCHA’s tireless efforts provide working programs which employ about 20 residents and also actively support the distribution of fresh food to our residents. As per HUD’s request, the FCHA assisted our Brownsville neighbors by providing housing for residents who were evicted from a condemned privately owned property and the FCHA is annually involved in awarding student scholarships, (2-3),that are filtered through the FCHA by outside organizations.

Marks incentives have created a dynamic Management Team which has eliminated the outsourcing expenses and solidified our finances. There are business realities the public needs to be aware of. The US Dept. of Housing and Development has mandated “re-positioning” of the housing with a goal to eliminating 125,000 housing units by Sept. 2020.

Mark, Andre, the Board of Commissioners and staff need to focus on the FCHA’s future funding constraints and the limited operating budgets while trying to accommodate and secure housing for our residents. No one needs to be subjected to the unmerited conflicts sparked by twisted perceptions which are motivated by bickering chaos and have no merit other than to defer from the success of Mark and his staff and to undermine the mission of FCHA.

Mr. Yauger adheres to a professional code of ethics and provides principled leadership qualities. His judgement must comply with federal, State and local guidelines in development and management.

Marks tenure has been exemplar and free of any fraud, collusion or wrongful actions. He has an open door policy, he is personable and willing to listen to the opinions of others. Mark, Andre and the FCHA are monitored by so many defining policies and governing authorities that there is no margin for any improprieties.

Mr. Andre Walters’s extraordinary perspectives define the five year and annual plans which determine the goals, objectives and finances for the future. His friendly personality is always extending a helping hand and encouraging a positive result without restraint.

Board Chairman, Mr. Harry Fike, has a long standing history within the community and looks for opportunities to reach out and help people. His sense of humor, optimistic charisma and human connection provides a beacon of hope within the community.

I have had the privilege of being appointed to the Board by the Commissioners and serve as the Treasure, reviewing expenses and cosigning checks with Mark. Through many, many questions and answers regarding expenses, as well as the contractual and related responsibilities of the FCHA, I have, in my opinion, concluded there are no behind the door discrepancies.

I would like to extend, A special ,”thank you,” to our distinguished Commissioners who support the future of Fayette County and FCHA’s projects and incentives. Together we will rise.

Joyce Nuccetelli, treasurer of FCHA and resident of Grindstone
