Just the facts, ma’am
Light is an interesting marvel. Our principle source of light, the sun, sends its rays for 93 million miles to earth at 186,282 miles per second, but you can put your hand out and stop a sun ray without the slightest harm. Most things traveling that fast would destroy your hand instantly.
Without sunlight, we could exist. If we did not freeze to death, we would quickly starve because plants, the basis of all food, could not grow without light. Aside from the sun, other sources of light exist, such as fire?ies and various luminescent creatures. And then there is Edison’s light bulb and its modern replacements. They all are wonders worthy of contemplation.
There is another form of light, however, which does not provide food, warmth, or eyesight, but at the end of the day, might also prove extremely important to our wellbeing. The phrase, “Oh, now I see,” suggests this other light. “lt is the light of understanding-being cognizant of reality.
Though this light is different from nature’s sunlight, there are various interesting similarities. For instance, if we are denied the light of understanding or reality, we are informationally blind. Without the light of information, we make bad decisions and stumble on life’s path just as one might stumble as he attempts to walk through a darkened room. My sense is that America is experiencing an extreme shortage of informative light or truth. A reality famine has gripped our land. A principle source of this blindness is the politically correct deception that one man’s opinion is just as good another man’s opinion. Let me explain using Earth’s shape. You may opine that the earth is ?at, and therefore you might fall off if you got too close to the edge, but the fact (reality) is that Earth is a slightly misshapen globe, you cannot fall off. Get the facts, then form opinions. Opinion is only helpful if it squares with reality. Opinion that does not square with reality or truth can be dangerous.
Uninformed opinion is obviously dangerous in physical science, but also in politics.
In the past, media outlets provided facts and listeners, thus informed, could build accurate opinions. Media experts did not always get the facts right, but they tried, attempting to keep opinion to a minimum. A populace thus enlightened made America great. But now, media voices throughout America provide opinions, while hiding facts in order to mask realities which do not suit their agendas. Accepting false opinions as if they were fact has, in large part, has made many Americans politically blind. Our education structure suffers a similar eclipse of the tmth. A nation can rise to greatness only when education provides truth to its young citizens. Distorted opinion driven by ulterior agenda destroys nations.
Election time looms near. Here are some realities (truths/facts) for our enlightenment:
(1) America has enemies whose leaders are sharp and tough; they eat “nice guys” for breakfast.
(2) This election is pivotal. The Republic’s survival is in the balance.
(3) Results on the books are more important than political promises.
(4) “lime on the job is not as important as results on the job.
(5) We need energetic, intelligent, driven, leaders with successful track records.
(6) Sometimes success demands rude, stubborn, and irritating leaders, not the politically correct, presidential gladehander.
(7) The American republic is the greatest nation on earth. Thousands shed their blood and millions gave years of service for liberty and justice and as a bulwark against socialism and communism.
(8) TRUMP Trump kept his 2016 campaign promises, is energetic, is tough, is transparent (tweets), created the best economy in decades, is bringing businesses back to US, created record job stats in all demographics, made good trade agreements, is fighting Covid-19 just as well as Europe, is firm with Russia, China etc., is no one’s puppet, supports police, improved the VA, carefully considers decisions before he acts, is patient under friendly and enemy fire, supports school choice, is not hampered by political correctness.
(9) BlDEN: What has Biden contributed in half a century? His family has benefitted greatly; but, has America? lf elected, Biden and his cohorts will make America a socialist disaster.
