Pence has sold out

2 min read

Finally, Mike Pence has commented on the Jan. 6 insurrection in which he was a key figure and victim. Referring to the former president, he stated, “I don’t know if we’ll ever see eye to eye on that day.” That’s it?

Pence’s life and the life of his wife were placed in great peril by the former president, who sicced his violent mob on the Capitol as he made the idiotic assertion that Pence “didn’t have the courage” to refuse to accept the Electoral College vote certifying the election of Joe Biden as president, Trump attempting to confer on Pence power that he did not possess and for which there was no legitimate basis.

Pence noted that he has spoken to Trump many times since the attack on the Capitol. I wonder if he ever confronted his master for the danger in which he willfully placed the Second Family: probably not.

Pence is willing to forgive and forget despite Trump’s stunning disloyalty because he has designs on becoming president in 2025 or 2029 and he dare not upset the de facto head of the new Republican Party, knowing that condemnation from Trump will destroy any GOP member with future political aspirations in this bizarre era.

Like so many who have bowed to Trump and ignored his every atrocity, Mike Pence has sold out.
