OP-ED: If Kamala Harris wins, America will be worse off
October 14 was Columbus Day. It is a day that we celebrate the discoveries and experiences of Christopher Columbus. The political left and Vice President Kamala Harris want to destroy this day and shame people for celebrating it.
Three years ago, Harris stated the following: “It is an honor to be with you this week to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day as we speak truth about our nation’s history. These explorers ushered in a wave of devastation to tribal nations, perpetrated violence, stealing land and spreading disease.”
The left wants to erase our country’s history. That was apparent in 2020 when historic statues were defaced and torn down by violent protesters.
In March, 2021, President Biden put Harris in charge of the southern border to determine the root cause of migrants crossing the border, coming predominantly from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. During the Trump administration, there were 1.8 million apprehensions. During the Biden administration, there were 4.3 million apprehensions.
The Biden administration’s open border policy is not only a threat to our safety but also is a threat to our national security. There have been at least 375 apprehensions of people on the terrorist watch list in this administration, compared to 11 during Trump’s tenure. At least 99 were released into the country. Does anybody wonder where they are and what they are planning?
Over 50,000 Chinese people have entered through the southern border, most being single young males. Does anybody wonder why?
Harris has flip-flopped on her previous policies since being chosen as the Democratic presidential nominee. She previously backed Medicare For All, eliminating private medical insurance, taxpayer-funded sex change operations for incarcerated individuals, and was against border wall funding, supported reducing police budgets, reparations for descendants of slaves, decriminalizing border crossings, abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), mandatory gun buyback plans, eliminating fracking, having 50% of all new vehicle sales be electric by 2030, and much more. Now, she has backtracked on all of these policies. However, she has stated that her values have not changed. You can bet your last penny that if her values have not changed, she still supports all of these policies.
One of the main objectives of the Harris campaign is to promote abortion. If elected, she will try to reinstate the provisions provided in Roe vs. Wade. Harris keeps perpetrating the lie that Trump supports a national ban on abortion. That’s not true. Trump says it’s in the purview of individual states.
Abortion statistics for 2021 provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that there were 11.6 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15 to 44. That equates to 1.1% of this age group. With all the unrest in the Middle East and Europe, open borders, a failing economy, crime, and our national security at risk, the fact 1.1% of women had an abortion should not be a determining factor in choosing the president.
Trump, unlike many Democrats who entered politics and later became millionaires after leaving office, did not enter politics to make money. He already was a billionaire. He loves this country and puts America’s interest first. Trump has a record to run on. Harris only has her record and President Biden’s, and she said she wouldn’t change a thing.
Ask yourself, are you better off now than you were four years ago? Things will get much worse under a Harris/Waltz administration. And in the words of Biden, “that’s not hyperbole, folks!”
