RISE OF THE FALLS

This moderate 3 mile walk explores the war being waged between two of nature’s most formidable foes: water and rock. During this hike we will explore the formation and migration of two of the park’s most famous waterfalls.
WILD TEA HIKE

For centuries people have gathered local plants and infused them with water to make tea. During this program we’ll introduce you to some of these teas and let you try a taste. We’ll also talk about the history of tea in general and how it has shaped many facets of our culture.
REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS DAY CAMP

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Ages 7-11)
Children ages 7 to 11 will learn about the reptiles and amphibians of Pennsylvania. Many educational adventures will take place during this week long camp, including hikes to
Salamander City and Frog Pond. Predator and Prey and Turtle Hurdles are just a few of the fun activities that will be offered. We will also be collecting, observing, and releasing live reptiles and amphibians right in Mingo Creek Park. Campers should dress for the weather and light hiking, and bring a lunch and water bottle each day. Make your reservations early; space islimited.
Pre-registration is required. Accepting registration beginning April 1. Payment in full at time of registration, cash or check. Registration is limited to one family per registrant with a maximum of 2 day camps per child.

HUNTING SEASONS
WOODCHUCKS (GROUNDHOGS): No closed season, except on Sundays and during the regular firearms deer seasons.
No limit.
PORCUPINES: Sept. 1-March 31, except during overlap with the regular firearms deer season. (3 daily, season limit of 10).
CROWS: July 3-April 10, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. No limit.
STARLINGS AND ENGLISH SPARROWS: No closed season, except during the antlered and antlerless deer season.
No limit.
2015-16 FURBEARER HUNTING SEASONS
COYOTES: No closed season. Unlimited. Outside of any big game season (deer, bear, elk and turkey), coyotes may be taken with a hunting license or a furtaker license, and without wearing orange.
During any big game season, coyotes may be taken while lawfully hunting big game.
or with a furtaker license.
OPOSSUM, STRIPED SKUNKS and WEASELS: No closed season, except Sundays.
