Jericho getting better with age
Chris Jericho turns 46 years old next month, but he is without a doubt one of the hottest acts in the WWE right now.
A six-time world champion, Jericho is having a career renaissance as the sidekick to Universal champion Kevin Owens, and the pair are magic together.
The pair keeps referring to the other as his best friend, although it is obvious that the two will split up in time and more than likely feud with each other.
Between Jericho stressing the word “it” in his promos to his recently debuted “List of Jericho,” the man formerly known as Y2J is on a role.
A subtle yet funny action with the two is when Jericho refers to the pair as “Team Chris and Kevin” while Owens refers to them as “Team Kevin and Chris.”
Enjoy the run while it lasts with Jericho, as he is one of the few performers who has creative input on his character.
Update on Lesnar vs. Goldberg II
Last week, I touched on how the WWE was going to run a rematch between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg.
Paul Heyman appeared on Raw to challenge Goldberg, and Goldberg will be on Raw Monday night.
Apparently the WWE is moving forward with the match at Survivor Series, although I think the company would have been better off waiting until the Royal Rumble to sell more tickets since the event is taking place in the Alamo Dome.
Vince McMahon is said to want the match at Survivor Series to make the event feel more important as it is, by far, the least important of the “Big Four” pay-per-view (PPV) events.
Whether or not this will be a one-time match for Goldberg is not confirmed, but it may be his only match.
I find that hard to believe that the WWE would bring him in for one match and not have it at WrestleMania.
How will WWE fans, many of who have never seen Goldberg wrestle live, react?
Smackdown challenges Raw
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan have issued a challenge to Raw for traditional elimination matches at Survivor Series next month.
Paige suspended again, having surgery
Paige recently returned from a 30-day suspension for failing the WWE Wellness Policy, but she received a double whammy this week.
It was announced that she has now been suspended for 60 days for failing another Wellness Policy test, and now she has publically said that she will have neck surgery this Wednesday.
It is amazing how far Paige has fallen in such a short amount of time.
She won the DivaĢƵ title in her first match and was 21 at the time.
Now 24 with a potential neck surgery around the corner, who knows how productive of a career Paige may have.
Once she is healed and cleared after the rumored surgery, she will have to sit out 60 more days because of the Wellness Policy.
No Mercy thoughts
Smackdown once again delivered a solid in-ring pay-per-view (PPV) last Sunday.
The triple threat main event match for the WWE title actually opened the show, and the only reason I can figure out is that the WWE wanted to have the match take place before the Presidential debate took place.
In the match of the night, Dolph Ziggler ended The MizĢƵ Intercontinental title reign and it should have been the last match of the night.
However, that honor went to Bray Wyatt in his win over Randy Orton.
Cena sets record
Although he was pinned in the main event that opened the show, John Cena has now main evented more PPV matches than any wrestler in history.
No Mercy was his 68th main event and he passed both The Undertaker and Triple H, who sit at 67 main events.
The show was the first that John Cena main evented since Survivor Series 2014, a stretch of almost two years.
Corgan restraining order against TNA, more issues
Two weeks ago, Billy Corgan was looking to buy majority ownership in TNA.
Now he has filed a restraining order against the company, Dixie Carter, and others.
Who knows what is going on, but a hearing has been scheduled for this Thursday in Nashville.
This weekĢƵ question
Will The New Day break the all-time record for longest WWE Tag Team title reign? Jeramy, Vanderbilt.
Considering that The New DayĢƵ current reign is at 420 days and Demolition holds the record at 478 days, I say that yes, a new record will be set come December.
Add in the fact that both Demolition team members are in an active class action lawsuit against the WWE, and I think it is a no-brainer.
Then again, the WWE had Ziggler end The MizĢƵ reign just as the title reign was really picking up steam, so who knows.
