The Steelers announced an agreement with Antonio Brown on a new five-year contract — essentially a four-year extension — that will keep the star receiver in Pittsburgh through the 2021 season.

The team did not release the financial specifics of the extension, but ESPN reports itÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ worth up to $68 million, which would make Brown the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.

Brown, 28, was in the final year of a five-year, $42 million deal and was set to earn $4.71 million in 2017 after the Steelers reworked his contract last August, advancing $4 million of his 2017 salary into his base salary for 2016.

Brown finished second in the NFL with 106 receptions last season, totaling 1,284 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns while making the Pro Bowl for the fifth time in his career. He has posted four straight 100-plus catch seasons since 2013.

Brown tweeted the news this afternoon.

Now, with BrownÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ deal out of the way, the Steelers can allocate all of their resources toward re-signing other top priorities like Bell and Stephon Tuitt. The Steelers have until July 15 to reach a long-term agreement with Bell, while potential contract negotiations with Tuitt could linger until the preseason.
