Centurions win at Southmoreland, 27-14
Greensburg Central Catholic scored the final 27 points of the non-conference game Friday night to win at Southmoreland, 27-14.
Ronnie Robinson scored the lone touchdown of the first quarter on a 1-yard run at 8:01. Andrew Rodriguez added the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
The Scotties (4-6) used a little trickery for their second touchdown when Zach Cernuto hit Riley Comforti for a 6-yard gain, then Comforti lateraled to Robinson, who carried the ball 79 yards to the end zone at 8:08 of the second quarter. Rodriguez’ kick gave the Scotties a 14-0 lead.
Robinson led Southmoreland with 17 carries for 120 yards. Cernuto completed 7-of-29 passes for 105 yards.
The Centurions (7-3) cut the deficit to a point at halftime on Max Pisula’s 67-yard pass to Brandon Brown and Brando Cicarelli’s 24-yard fumble return.
Pisula then gave the visitors the lead in the third quarter on touchdown runs of 15 and 19 yards. Pisula ran for 234 yards on 42 carries and completed 5-of-12 passes for 91 yards.
Greensburg C.C. scored a safety in the fourth quarter.
