Greyhounds cruise to 30-0 victory at Avella
Vaughn Taylor scored all the points Monessen needed in the first quarter as the Greyhounds cruised to a 30-0 victory Friday night at Avella in Tri-County South Conference action.
The Greyhounds, West Greene and California all finished at 6-1 atop the conference standings. The teams will flip a coin to decide which team will finish first for playoff seedings.
Taylor scored on a 1-yard run just over two minutes into the game for the only touchdown of the first half. Taylor finished with 69 yards rushing on five carries.
The Greyhounds’ Justin Towler had touchdown runs of 35 and 55 yards in the second half. He led Monessen with 111 yards rushing on 11 carries.
