Leopards shut out Ringgold, 55-0
Belle Vernon will finish alone in second place in the Big Eight Conference after the visiting Leopards shut out Ringgold, 55-0, Friday night.
The Leopards finish with a 6-1 conference mark and an overall record of 8-1. Thomas Jefferson defeated West Mifflin, 37-6, for sole possession of the conference title.
Ringgold finishes the season 0-7 in the conference and 0-10 overall.
Belle Vernon scored 20 points in the first quarter touchdown runs by Andrew Pacak (8 yards), Anthony Bertram (43), and Larry Calloway (4). Bertram carried the ball three times for 74 yards.
The Leopards added three more rushing touchdowns in the second quarter with Mason Pascoe (19), Gage Rogge (1), and Hamer (12) finding the end zone.
Hamer scored his third touchdown of the game on a 15-yard run in the third quarter. He led the Leopards with 16 carries for 94 yards.
Tyler Kovatch capped the scoring with a 42-yard punt return in the fourth quarter.
