Pioneers close with 20-6 non-conference win
Union scored first Friday night, but West Greene scored the final points for a 20-6 non-conference home victory.
Michael Flowers spotted the Scotties (3-7) a 6-0 lead in the first quarter on a 3-yard run, but the Pioneers gained the lead at halftime at 14-7 on touchdown runs by Kolin Walker (7 yards) and Gavin Scott (13), and Nathan Brudnock’s two-point conversion run.
Brock Bedilion added insurance points on a 4-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Pioneers, Monessen and California will flip a coin Monday morning to determine who will emerge as the conference winner for playoff pairings after the three teams finished tied with 6-1 records.
