Freeport shuts out Cougars, 20-0
Freeport broke a scoreless tie at halftime Friday night with 13 points in the third quarter on its way to 20-0 victory over visiting Yough in Big East Conference action.
Conor Selinger scored first in the third quarter for Freeport (2-3, 2-3). Austin Romanchak scored four minutes later for the 13-0 halftime lead.
Romanchak’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Schaffhauser was the only score of the fourth quarter.
The Cougars’ Dustin Shoaf ran for 79 yards on 24 carries.
Yough goes to 3-2 in the conference and 3-3 overall.
