Leopards breeze to 48-7 win at Trinity
Larry Callaway ran for 160 yards and Jared Hartman threw for 187 Friday night as Belle Vernon returned home from Trinity with a 48-7 victory in Big Eight Conference play.
Callaway scored the first touchdown for the Leopards (4-1, 5-1) on a 9-yard run. Hartman hit Devin Whitlock for a 17-yard touchdown pass for a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
Whitlock increased the lead to 21-0 in the second quarter on a 58-yard interception return. Gage Rogge made it 28-0 on a 4-yard run.
Hartman scored on a 1-yard run, and Callaway added two touchdown runs in the second half.
Micah Finley led the Hillers (2-4, 2-4) with 114 yards rushing on 21 carries.
