Raiders defeat visiting Cougars, 56-44

Waynesburg Central pulled away in the fourth quarter Friday night for a 56-44 victory over visiting Charleroi in Section 4-AAA action.

The Raiders (1-5, 2-10) outscored the Cougars in the final quarter, 18-11, to secure the win.

Waynesburg led 10-9, 27-19 and 38-33 at the quarter breaks.

The Raiders’ Dane Woods had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Alex Eck scored 12 points and Cole Headlee dished out five assists.

Bryce Large scored a game-high 18 points for the Cougars (2-5, 6-10). Jackson Keranko finished with 13 points.
