Pechin rallies in seventh inning for 7-6 victory

Pechin rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 7-6 road victory at Sewickley Twp. in Fayette County Baseball League action.

The game-winning run scored on a successful delayed steal by Alex McClain.

Braeden McKnight drove in the first run of the rally with a single. McKnight moved to second on a wild pickoff attempt and third on a passed ball, and scored on an infield error.

Remington Lessman tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

McClain drove in the first run in the top of the first inning with a sacrifice fly. Sewickley Twp. tied the game with a run in the bottom of the second inning.

Pechin (5-7) regained the lead with an unearned run in the top of the third inning and added a run in the top of the fifth inning.

Sewickley Twp. (2-12) surged into the lead with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Vinny DeVone tied the game with a two-run home run. James Showman drove in two runs and then scored on an error.

Noah Matthews pitched the final 1.1 inning for the win, allowing one earned run on three hits with no walks and two strikeouts.

Pechin’s Braylon Schoch, who was added to the roster earlier in the day to fill in as catcher, finished with two shits and scored a run. McKnight led the offense with three hits and two runs scored, and Lessman had a pair of singles.
