Mill RunÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Bendis goes the distance in 11-3 win

Bill Bendis went the distance and Marc Prinkey drove in three runs to lead Mill Run to an 11-3 win over visiting Pechin in Fayette County Baseball League action.

The veteran lefthander allowed three earned runs on eight hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

Leading 1-0, Mill Run (3-0) broke the game open with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The lead grew to 7-0 after five innings. Pechin (2-2) came back with two runs in the top of the sixth inning, but the home team countered with four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Marc Prinkey drove in three runs on two hits for Mill Run. Tanner Orndorff went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI. Wyatt Nehls drove in two runs. Cade Warrick, Kace Shearer, Orndorff and Nehls all doubled.

Alex McClain doubled for Pechin. Braedin McKnight finished with two hits. McClain, Ben Diamond and Devan Krivosky drove in one run apiece.

Oakland (Md.) 7, M&R Transit 6 – M&R Transit’s rally fell short in the top of the seventh inning in a Fayette County Baseball League road loss in the opening game of a doubleheader.

M&R Transit (1-2) scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning and had the tying run on second base. Cole Bumbales sealed the victory with a strikeout.

M&R Transit scored two runs in the top of the first inning and led 3-1 in the top of the third inning. Oakland (3-0) pulled into the lead with three runs in the bottom of the inning.

The visitors tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth inning, but Oakland responded with three unearned runs in the bottom of the inning.

Cole Mooney earned the win. Easton Rhoten had a single and double and Seth Healey finished with two singles.

Chad Petrush finished with a double, two singles and two RBI. Nate Zimcosky added a single and double.

M&R Transit 6, Oakland (Md.) 4 — M&R Transit scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to avoid a doubleheader sweep with a 6-4 victory at Oakland (Md.).

Braedin O’Brien drove in one run with a sacrifice fly. Santino Marra scored on a steal of home, and Andino Vecchiolla plated two runners with a triple.

M&R Transit (2-2) opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the second inning.

Oakland (3-1) countered with a single run in the bottom of the second and two in the bottom of the third inning.

The Oaks’ lead increased to 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Kaleb Scot was the beneficiary of the four-run output to earn the win.

Vecchiolla also had a double and drove in a total of three runs. O’Brien finished with three hits and Nate Zimcosky added a pair of singles.

Cole Parker led Oakland with a double, single and two RBI. Carson Bradley finished with a pair of singles.

Carmichaels 12, Sewickley Twp. 1 – The Copperheads invoked the mercy rule with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for a victory over Sewickley Twp.

The first two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning scored on Nick Pegg’s two-run single and Hunter Mamie closed out the game-ending rally with a two-run home run.

Mamie led the way for the Copperheads (1-0-1) with five RBI after belting a three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning.

Pegg finished with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Gianni Cantini and Gavin Pratt both drove in two runs.

Joe Sabolek, Pratt and Pegg combined on a two-hitter.

James Shoman and Steve Manon both had a single for Sewickley Twp. (0-3)
