Charleroi Legion rolls to 14-5 win at Colonial 3

Spencer Behrendt drove in four runs to lead Charleroi to a 14-5 victory Wednesday night at Colonial 3 in Fayette County American Legion Baseball League action.

Charleroi pulled away for good in the seesaw game with seven runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Behrendt had the big hit in the inning with a bases-loaded, bases-clearing double.

Charleroi scored first on Jackson Keranko’s run-scoring single in the top of the second inning.

Colonial 3 responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning with Rylan Johnson’s RBI double and Ben Vojacek’s run-scoring single.

Charleroi tied the game in the top of the third inning, but Colonial 3 rallied once again to take the lead at 4-2.

Gavin Kovach earned the win for Charleroi, led by three hits each by Behrendt and Tyler O’Neil of Charleroi’s 15 hits. Eddie Frizzel, Joe Campbell and Tyler Fisher all finished with two hits.

Johnson and Aiden Hardy both had two hits for Colonial 3.
