Pechin pulls away for 6-3 home victory
Pechin scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and three more in the sixth for a 6-3 Fayette County Baseball League victory Sunday afternoon over visiting Sewickley Twp.
Sewickley Twp. (1-6) jumped ahead with Casey Teagarden’s RBI double in the top of the fourth inning. Gavin Kovach’s bases-loaded walk extended the lead to 2-0 in the fifth inning.
Pechin (3-3) countered with three runs after two outs in the bottom of the inning.
Tristan McCoy brought the first run of the inning home with a single and Carson D’Amico capped the rally with a two-run double.
Zach Bender’s run-scoring single tied the game in the top of the sixth inning.
Pechin put together the game-winning rally in the bottom of the inning.
Remy Lessman tripled and scored on an error and Alex McClain drove in a pair with a single.
Devan Krivosky earned the win and Noah Matthews picked up the save. McCoy paced the offense with three hits. D’Amico had two hits and two RBI.
Losing pitcher Casey Teagarden finished with two hits and an RBI.
Oakland (Md.) 6, Mill Run 0 – Ty Wickline held visiting Mill Run to just three hits for a win in the first game of a doubleheader.
Cameron Goble led the way for the Oaks (4-2) with two doubles and two RBI. Bryce Snyder finished with a double, single and two runs scored. Easton and Beiler both had two hits, and Lane Ours tripled.
Jonathan Kelly, Josh Burns and Wyatt Nehls all had a single for Mill Run (4-3).
Oakland (Md.) 9, Mill Run 6 — The Oakland Oaks scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning to complete a Fayette County Baseball League doubleheader sweep with a victory over visiting Mill Run.
Mill Run (4-4) led 1-0 in the top of the third inning on Cade Warrick’s sacrifice fly.
Oakland (5-2) stormed back in the bottom of the inning with Lane Ours belting a two-run home run and Cameron Goble’s bases-loaded triple.
Mill Run scratched back with two runs in the top of the fifth inning and three more in the sixth inning.
Warrick had run-scoring singles in both innings. Wyatt Nehls drove in a run with a single in the fifth inning and two with a single in the sixth inning.
Oakland added a couple insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Andrew Catone earned the win after allowing one run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in four innings. Bryce Snyder pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.
Goble had a pair of triples, a single and three RBI. Snyder finished with a pair of doubles. Alex Beiler added three hits and scored two runs.
Alan VanSickle took the loss, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
Warrick and Nehls both drove in three runs for Mill Run. Jonathan Kelly, Warrick and Nehls all had two hits.
M&R Transit 13, WBAC 5 – M&R Transit pulled away in the top of the third inning with four runs for a FCBL road victory.
Braeden O’Brien and Justin Brestensky had run-scoring singles, Garrett Myers walked with the bases loaded and Chad Pillar was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give M&R Transit (4-3) a 6-0 lead in the third inning.
Nate Zimcosky and O’Brien drove in a run with singles in the top of the first inning.
M&R Transit scored single runs in the top of the fifth and sixth innings. Chad Petrush’s run-scoring double accounted for the first run and Noah Lion had a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
Zimcosky belted a two-run home run, Andino Vecchiolla hit a solo shot and Santino Marra drove in a run with a double in the top of the seventh inning.
Myers was the winning pitcher.
Michael Coll had an RBI single and Dylan Brosky hit a solo home run for WBAC (1-4-1). Brosky and Josiah Fisher also doubled.
