M&R Transit cruises to 9-1 home win

M&R Transit scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and didn’t look back for a 9-1 victory in Fayette County Baseball League action against visiting Sewickley Twp.

Nate Zimcosky gave M&R Transit (6-3) a 2-0 lead with a two-run single. Jimbob Domer doubled the lead with a two-run double. Kaleb Scott doubled home the fifth run of the inning, and Noah Lion’s sacrifice fly brought home the sixth run.

Zimcosky drove in a run with a double in the bottom of the second inning. Andino Vecchiolla increased the lead to 6-0 with a sacrifice fly.

Chad Petrush drove in the ninth run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Sewickley Twp. (1-8) scored an unearned run in the top of the seventh inning.

Scott went five innings for the win, allowing no runs on four hits with four walks and seven strikeouts. Petrush finished the game with one unearned run on two hits with two walks and a strikeout.
