Erhard, Walker pitch Copperheads to 12-1 road victory
Ethan Erhard and Wyatt Walker held Sewickley Twp. to four hits Tuesday night in Carmichaels’ 12-1 Fayette County Baseball League road victory.
Erhard started and pitched six innings for the victory. He allowed one unearned run on three hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Walker allowed one hit and struck out two.
Hunter Mamie led the Copperheads (6-1-1) with five RBI. Mamie smacked a three-run home run in the top of the second inning. He added a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning.
Forrest Havanis, Jimmy Sadler and Dom Colarusso all finished with two singles for Carmichaels. Jacob Rush, Ty Richmond, Sadler, and Nick Ricco all drove in one run.
Vinny DeVone doubled for Sewickley Twp. (1-10). Aidan McLaughlin had the home team’s lone RBI.
Oakland (Md.) 6, M&R Transit 2 – The Oaks scored three runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed for a Fayette County Baseball League road victory.
Ryan Roell doubled in the first run of the first inning and Cameron Goble brought the next two runs home with a triple.
M&R Transit (7-4) cut into the deficit with Nate Zimcosky’s run-scoring double in the bottom of the first inning and Loudon Conte’s ground out in the third inning.
Cole Parker’s double in the top of the fifth inning increased Oakland’s led to 5-2. The Oaks (4-3) added a run in the top of the sixth inning.
Alex Beiler was 3-for-5 and scored two runs in the victory. Roell finished with two hits and two RBI. Parker had two doubles and two RBI.
Casey Tomasik started and pitched four innings for the win. He allowed two earned runs on four hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Bryce Snyder pitched the final three scoreless innings for the save with two hits, one walk and seven strikeouts.
Zimcosky went 3-for-3, including two doubles, for M&R Transit. Santino Marra, Chad Petrush and Ty Sankovich all doubled.
