Gillott, Conte receive D2CCA honors
Slippery Rock redshirt sophomore Gage Gillott and California (Pa.)’s Payton Conte and Jake Kramer received recognition on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region first team.
The trio is now eligible for All-America consideration.
Gillott, a Connellsville graduate, was already honored as the PSAC Western Division Pitcher of the Year and earned first-team conference honors as a starting pitcher and second-team recognition as an outfielder.
Gillott pitched 73.2 innings in 12 starts with a 2.44 ERA, opposition batting average of .211 and a 1.00 WHIP. He struck out 70 and walked 18. Gillott had six complete games (second in Division II) with three shutouts.
He also had a batting average of .341 and .44 slugging percentage with one home run, 19 RBI, and 28 runs scored. Gillott finished with 10 multi-hit games and reached base in 28 of his 34 starts.
Conte, a California Area graduate, broke the program’s single-season batting average with a .469 average (46-for-98). The mark was second best in Division II. The junior designated hitter led the PSAC with a 1.189 OPS and had a 10-game hitting streak with 15 multi-hit games.
Kramer, a Hempfield Area grad, tied the all-time program record and broke the single-season mark with 10 saves. The sophomore relief pitcher finished with a 4-1 record and 1.47 ERA in 30.2 innings over 20 appearances.
