LH girls shut out visiting Lady Colonials, 7-0

Laurel Highlands goalkeeper Emily Bellotti posted a shutout Monday night for a 7-0 victory in Section 3-AAA play over visiting Albert Gallatin.

Ava Ruvalcaba and Adrianna Walker both scored two goals in the victory. Elle Mancini, Camryn McClean and Neela Hills all netted one goal for Laurel Highlands.

Keystone Oaks 2, Belle Vernon 1 – Keystone Oaks scored two late goals, one off a corner and the other on a penalty kick, to rally for a Section 1-AA road victory.

Neveah Hamilton and Makenzie Muick scored for Keystone Oaks (8-3, 10-6).

Ava Scalise spotted the Lady Leopards (7-4, 8-8) the lead in the first half when she converted Grace West’s corner into a goal.

Bentworth 4, Beth-Center 2 – Megan Keturakis scored two goals to lead the visiting Lady Bearcats to a Section 2-A victory.

Bella Moyer and Brielle Dillon each scored a goal for Bentworth (7-1, 13-1). Beth-Center slips to 1-8 in the section and 2-9.

Waynesburg Central 10, Brownsville 0 – Kolbi Rastoka, Emily Rafferty and Avery Davis each scored two goals in the Lady Raiders Section 2-A home victory.

Waynesburg’s Rylie Rastoka scored a goal and assisted on five. Bree Clutter, Izzy Talpas and Jaden Tretinik scored one goal apiece.

Upper St. Clair 7, Connellsville 1 – The Lady Falcons had tough time with Upper St. Clair in a Section 2-AAA loss.

Meredith Huzjak scored four goals for Upper St. Clair (5-2-2, 8-5-2). Connellsville slips to 0-9 in the section and 4-12 overall.

Mount Pleasant 5, Southmoreland 1 – Rylin Bugosh scored a hat trick to lead the Lady Vikings to a Section 4-AA road victory.

Morgan Gesinski and Caitlyn Fullman scored one goal each for Mount Pleasant (9-0, 13-1). Southmoreland goes to 5-4 in the section and 9-6 overall.

Oakland Catholic 7, Uniontown 2 – The Lady Raiders fell to Oakland Catholic in a Section 3-AAA match.

Oakland Catholic improves to 5-4 in the section and 6-7 overall. Uniontown goes to 1-8 in the section and 3-11 overall.

Chartiers-Houston 6, California 2 – Leah Hartley scored both goals for the Lady Trojans in a Section 2-A loss to Chartiers-Houston.

Ana Capozzoli netted a hat trick for Chartiers-Houston (7-2, 9-3). California slips to 3-4-1 in the section and 4-6-1 overall.

Girls volleyball

Thomas Jefferson 3, Albert Gallatin 1 – The Lady Jaguars won the last three sets for a Section 3-AAA road victory.

Albert Gallatin won the first set, 27-25. Thomas Jefferson closed out the victory with set wins of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-16.

Mia Myers led the Lady Colonials with 11 assists, four aces and four kills. Mya Glisan was strong at the net with eight kills and two blocks. Leah Myers had seven kills and three aces. Kymber Hlatky Houze served six aces.

Trinity Christian 3, Geibel Catholic 0 – Trinity Christian swept past Geibel Catholic for a Section 4-A road win.

Trinity Christian won by the scores, 25-19, 25-11, 25-14.

Uniontown 3, Carmichaels 1 – The Lady Mikes won the second set, 25-13, but Uniontown won the final two sets for a non-section road win.

The Lady Raiders won the first set, 25-21, and the last two, 25-23, 32-30.

Lyric McLee (9 kills, 11 digs), Khloe Burnworth (9 digs), Maggie Campbell (20 assists, 7 aces, 3 kills, 3 digs, 3 blocks), Lexi Humbertston (20 digs), Ava Livingood (12 kills, 5 blocks), Layla Fitzgerald (4 kills, 4 blocks), Lauren White (7 digs), and Emma Latsnic (5 digs) contributed to Uniontown’s victory.

Bentworth 3, Avella 0 – The Lady Bearcats swept to a non-section road victory by the scores 25-21, 25-18 and 25-16.

Zoie McDonald led Bentworth with 14 assists and four aces. Chelsea Dindal had nine kills and Olivia Telegraphis finished with 16 digs.

Frazier 3, Brownsville 0 – The Lady Commodores were tough at home for a non-section victory.

Frazier (9-3) swept to victory by the scores, 25-4, 25-9, 25-11.

Frazier’s Addison Schultz had a team-high 14 service points.Grace Vaughn finished with 12 kills and Maddie Salisbury had eight. Jayanna Ciferno finished with six digs.

Mia O’Hern had six service points for the Lady Falcons (6-9).

Charleroi 3, Mapletown 0 – The Lady Cougars returned home with a non-section victory over Mapletown.

Charleroi won by the scores, 25-22, 25-17, 25-16.

Miranda Fox (8 kills, 3 blocks, 6 digs), Treslee Weston (7 kills, 6 digs), Marley Seward (10 digs, 2 aces), and Marley Shiflett (18 assists) were stats leaders for Mapletown (2-8).

Hockey

Ringgold 4, Neshannock 1 – The Rams opened the PIHL D2 Division season with a road victory over the Lancers.

Caden Doran spotted Ringgold the lead at 12:44 in the first period. Neshannock’s John Moniodes tied the game three minutes later on a penalty shot, but the Rams regained the lead with Landon Vaccaro’s goal with 23 seconds left in the period.

Ringgold added two more goals after a scoreless period. Matt Sylvester made it 3-1 and Caden Doran’s power play goal closed the scoring.

Ringgold’s Collin Moffett turned aside 41 shots. Neshannock’s Tripp Johns stopped 25 shots.
