With the individual championships completed, the quest for a team title begins today with four boys teams and two girls squads competing in the WPIAL Class AAA/AA Team Golf Championships.
The boys final will be played Thursday on Cedarbrook Golf Course’s Gold Course with a 10 a.m. tee time for both classifications. The top three teams at each semifinal site advance to the district championship.
The Belle Vernon boys moved back into Section 2-AAA this season after capturing the Class AA title last year. The Leopards won the section title without a loss, finishing with a 12-0 section record and overall mark of 14-0.
The Leopards’ starting lineup includes WPIAL individual finalists Jordan Mocello, Seth Tomalski and Jack Edwards.
