Lady Scots鈥� Ohler places 8th in Red, White & Blue Classic
Southmorelands’ Lexi Ohler had a top-10 finish in Saturday’s Class AA race after she placed eighth in 20:01.7 in the Red, White & Blue Classic at White Oak Park.
Laurel Highlands’ Matt Schwertfeger finished 14th in Class AA with a time of 16:46.2..
Uniontown’s Cooper Gilleland placed 25th in 17.11.9, with teammate Ethan Syner 28th in 17:14.9.
Connellsville’s Jonah Lindstrom finished 31st in Class AAA with a time of 16:52.1.
Geibel Catholic’s Emma Larkin placed 13th overall in Friday’s Class A race with a time of 21:57.9.
Girls soccer
Mount Pleasant 2, South Park 1 – Maddie Barrick scored with around four minutes remaining in the second half to lift the Lady Vikings to a road victory.
Isabel Overly spotted Mount Pleasant the lead in the first half. Rylin Bugosh assisted on both Mount Pleasant goals.
South Park’s Taylor Vargo tied the match with her goal in the second half.
Boys soccer
Beth-Center 1, South Allegheny 0 – Parker Amos set up Nedoda Bundy for the lone goal in the Bulldogs’ victory over the Gladiators.
Goalie Luke Amon preserved the shutout out for Beth-Center (3-0-1).
Charleroi 7, Greensburg Salem 1 – Blake Pendo, Caleb Amoroso and Dylan Klinger all scored two goals in the Cougars’ Section 4-AA win over the Golden Lions.
Charleroi improves to 2-0 in the section and 3-0 overall, while Greensburg Salem remains winless at 0-3 and 0-4.
