Local roundup: Hiles sparkles as Frazier blanks California
Addison Hiles was 4 for 4 and threw an abbreviated no-hitter as Frazier blanked visiting California, 15-0, in a four-inning, Section 4-2A softball victory Friday.
Emme Travalena homered, doubled, scored twice and had three RBIs and Zoey Zurenski also homered and had two RBIs and two runs for Frazier (1-0, 4-1) which also got a double, single, two stolen bases and an RBI from Gracen Hartman, two RBIs from Grace Vaughn and a double and an RBI from Morgan Fisher.
Hiles had a double, two RBIs, three runs scored and two stolen bases while walking one and striking out six in the circle.
Olivia Lenkey, who drew the walk, took the loss for the Lady Trojans (0-1, 2-3).
West Mifflin 6, Uniontown 2 – Addie Salopek had a double and an RBI and winning pitcher Rylie Dobnak didn’t allow an earned run as the Lady Titans defeated the visiting Lady Raiders in a Section 2-4A game.
Dobnak gave up six hits and a pair of unearned runs with no walks and eight strikeouts and had a single and an RBI for West Mifflin (2-0, 4-3) which also got two singles and an RBI from Abby Jakubovic.
Graci Rodeheaver had two hits and an RBI for Uniontown (0-2, 2-4) which also got a single and an RBI from Alivia Noah. Losing pitcher Emmaleigh Noah allowed three earned runs on eight hits with four walks and six strikeouts.
